Hello! I’m Dr. Joann Ford, a Doctorally prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 17 years of nursing experience and 7 years as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. My passion is helping people find balance, hope, and healing through personalized, compassionate mental health care.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and sleep disorders. I understand that each person’s journey is unique, and I take time to listen, connect, and collaborate with my clients to create treatment plans that truly fit their lives.
I provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. I am committed to confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and clear communication, with the goal of supporting each client’s mental health and overall well-being.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of experience in healthcare, with 13 years including mental health care. My background includes working in high-acuity settings such as ICU and trauma care, which has strengthened my ability to remain calm, attentive, and thorough in complex situations.
My clients often tell me they appreciate my warm, collaborative, and judgment-free approach. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard and understood, so I focus on building a safe space where you can be open about your experiences and goals. My style is practical and evidence-based, blending CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing to help you develop skills you can use in everyday life. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or burnout, we’ll work together at a pace that feels supportive and empowering.
