Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m Maria Zavala, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California, and I offer a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are. I work with individuals navigating stress, life transitions, identity exploration, and emotional challenges, with a strong focus on culturally responsive care. I am also multi-lingual! My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and grounded while we gently explore what’s been weighing on you and begin creating a path forward that feels authentic, steady, and truly yours.
I am a licensed clinical therapist with 15 years of experience, specializing in helping adult children of immigrants who struggle with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I understand the challenges of bicultural expectations and family obligations, and I create a warm, culturally responsive environment where you feel heard. Together, we will reconnect with your authentic self, address your inner critic, and develop skills for setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care. If you're ready to feel confident and aligned with who you are, I would be honored to support you.
Creating boundaries and recognizing the roles we play in our relationships can help to reframe what our emotional needs are. Often our responses and strong feelings or reactions are simply our needs not being met. We do the best we can with the tools we have, and forgiving your former self for tools you didn't have. I like to work with you collaboratively. Thank you for visiting this page in curiosity of seeking therapy, or working out a difficult shift in your life. Here’s a little about me and how I practice therapy: Cultivating your mind to think differently comes with practice.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) degree from the University of Massachusetts Global. I have experience working with adolescents and adults in multiple settings facing various complex mental health issues, including OCD, depression, anxiety, ADHD and mood disorders.
I have supported clients with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, relational issues, personality disorders and trauma. I use an eclectic approach to therapy that I tailor to meet the needs of each client.
Much can happen in life that we never saw coming and/or that never wanted for ourselves. I believe that in spite of this, there is still a greater hope.
As your therapist, I will collaborate with you in your journey to regain and nourish that hope as you seek healing, clarity, and change. Together, we will establish a safe environment to explore the issues that are consuming you, set goals toward change, learn more about yourself and your values, find clarity, and equip you with the tools you need to keep going.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I have worked in the field of social work helping individuals and families of individuals going through chronic illness, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, caregiving, communication issues, relationship issues, financial stressors, burn-out, and self-care. My experience has been mostly with adults, ages 18 – 80, but I also have some experience working with teenagers (16 and older) and couples.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Berkeley, CA, and I’ve worked in mental health care since 2012. My background includes community-based work, trauma-informed care, and leadership in training and clinical development. I earned my MSW from NYU and specialize in treating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. I enjoy working with adults navigating changes - career shifts, identity questions, or simply trying to feel more at home in themselves. Clients often say they feel safe, understood, and more at ease after we talk. I believe therapy works best with a good sense of humor - even in hard sessions, there’s room for relief and laughter.
You can look like you have it all together — and still feel like you're falling apart inside. I know, because I’ve been there.
I help women who are ages 20-50 navigate life changes, improve healthy coping, gain clarity, and feel emotionally lighter. My clients report feeling "lighter" after sessions, more clarity on their next steps, less irritability with others, and improved relationships.
I’m Catherine Moore, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, international speaker, author, podcaster, and therapist. For over 15 years, I’ve supported women through anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma, and the high-stakes demands of everyday life.
I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and have worked in everything from fast-paced hospitals to deeply personal private practice.
But beyond the credentials, I’m also a burnout survivor.
I know the relentless pressure of being everything for everyone — mother, daughter, friend, professional. I’ve lost close family members. I’ve walked through trauma. And I know what it’s like to smile on the outside while feeling lost on the inside. It’s what drives my work and what makes this space safe, grounded, and judgment-free.
If you’re ready to stop drowning in life and start living with clarity, peace, and purpose — I’m here. You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore. Schedule a no-obligation consultation with me to see if we are a good fit for your goals.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent adults (ADHD, autism), LGBTQIA individuals, and those navigating chronic illness, burnout, and perimenopause or menopause. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or like nothing they’ve tried has worked.
You might feel like you’re constantly “too much” and “not enough” at the same time, or like simple things take more energy than they should. That’s not a personal failure—it’s a sign that your brain and body need different kinds of support.
With over twelve years of experience, I offer therapy that is warm, affirming, and practical. I help clients reduce overwhelm, build coping tools that actually work, and better understand how their brain and body function.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you build a life that works for you.
I truly believe that no matter how overwhelmed you feel right now, you are capable of healing. Sometimes, the most important part of the journey is simply having a space where you feel seen, heard, and completely accepted without judgment. Since 2018, I’ve been walking alongside individuals as they navigate the complexities of life, and more recently, I’ve dedicated my practice to supporting parents through the highs and lows of the prenatal and postpartum period. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, or the weight of past trauma, I am here to help you find your way back to yourself.
