I'm Rebecca Colas, a bilingual (English/Haitian Creole) LCSW based in FL. In my profession I have had the honor of supporting individuals across the lifespan. I help individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, stress, and major life transitions and yes, sometimes we even laugh along the way. No matter what you’re carrying, my priority is to meet you exactly where you are and create a space where you feel genuinely supported.
I'm an LCSW with expertise in brain and behavior and additional specialty in addiction
I had many years of corporate experience prior to getting my degrees in psychology. I use this expertise to help with problem solving as I did when I managed a large employee base.
If you are looking for a therapist who can sit with the full picture- the child whose ADHD is shaping the whole household, the teen working through an eating disorder, the parent navigating divorce or the adult who's been carrying it for years- that's the work I've spent the last 23 years doing.
I'm an LMHC licensed in Florida, and I've worked with children, adolescents, families, and (over the past three years) adults across homes, schools, outpatient settings, and social service agencies. I have particular experience with military connected families, blended families, and clients navigating ADHD, eating disorders, anxiety, mood and bipolar disorders, grief, and the kinds of life transitions that shake your sense of self.
I specialize in evidence-based treatments for patients suffering from anxiety, OCD, Depression, and trauma related disorders. These treatments are more effective and efficient than traditional therapy because they directly target symptoms. I provide specific exercises aimed at breaking behavioral patterns that maintain symptoms. Traditional psychotherapy emphasizes gaining insight which in itself often does not lead to symptom reduction. Changing what you do will you change how you feel.
