I'm a retired veteran, have been working as a social worker/therapist since 2004, and have been in private practice since 2017. I have extensive and successful experience helping people with trauma/PTSD, relationships, boundaries, emotions, domestic violence, sexual trauma, substance abuse, grief, parenting, and more.
I’m a Florida-based PMHNP with a strong background in trauma-informed, culturally competent care. I’ve supported diverse clients across acute, outpatient, veteran, and dual-diagnosis settings—delivering psychiatric evaluations, med management, and therapeutic support in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
My overarching hope for clients is that through therapy they would understand and believe they have inherent worth and value as human beings.
I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then went on to earn her Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University in 2016.
I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to delivering patient-centered care to people of all ages. Throughout the 20 years I have worked in mental health, I have worked with individuals in all stages of the therapeutic journey. I specialize in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorders and OCD, in addition to other conditions.
Therapy is self-care. I want my client's therapeutic experience to be the best one possible as I know they are using the small amount of time they have to work on themselves. I am the therapist I would want for myself. I am collaborative, knowledgeable, I help simplify the complicated, put words to experiences, feelings, and thoughts, and guide clients in what to do with their findings. I am the therapist you do "the work" with.
This is a telehealth practice. As a personal choice, the use of narcotics or other controlled (DEA) meds are minimal, if any. I've been a psych nurse practitioner for at least 14yrs. I believe in managing conditions with psychiatric and non-psychiatric treatment modalities that are evidence based. The use of the least amount of meds, at lower doses that does the healing of symptoms, is an active process involving the client and based on the reported experiences. Safety is the core of my practice and my job is to help clients understand internal signals and how to prevent another crisis.
I'm Juan Carlos Martell, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida who believes therapy should feel like a real conversation — not a clinical evaluation. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Existential Therapy to help us work through what's weighing you down while reconnecting with what actually matters to you.
I work with adults and teens in navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-doubt, and the quiet question of "is this really the life I want?" Sessions with me are warm, practical, and free of jargon. You'll leave with tools you can actually use — not just insight, but real strategies for your everyday life.
Outside the therapy room, I'm a published author of The Adventures of Kevin & Friends, a children's mental health book series designed to help families talk openly about emotions. I'm also the creator of PsychLife on Instagram, where I make psychology accessible for everyone, and the founder of MindfulPractice, an upcoming mental health app rooted in CBT, ACT, and mindfulness.
Everything I do comes back to one mission: making mental health real, relatable, and within reach. You don't have to figure it out alone.
Be the artist of your own life.

Hi, I’m Stephane Carvalho, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts. Originally trained as a psychologist in Brazil, I now work with individuals, couples, and families to help them build stronger, more connected relationships.
Whether you’re navigating conflict, communication challenges, anxiety, or the desire to reconnect with yourself, therapy can be a space to understand your emotional patterns and create change that lasts.
As an immigrant therapist, I deeply understand what it means to navigate life between cultures — finding belonging while holding on to your roots. That perspective shapes the way I support clients from diverse backgrounds, always honoring their stories, identities, and values.
