I have over 15 years of experience working in behavioral health helping adults, teens and families. I hold certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and crisis prevention.
As a dedicated and passionate therapist and life coach, my mission is to nurture and ignite the inherent potential within each of my client's. I will guide you towards a life rich in fulfillment that is aligned with your deepest goals and values. I believe that everyone has the potential to create positive change in their lives.
I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience working in hospitals, inpatient psychiatric facilities and in private practice. I seek to provide a warm, collaborative, and problem-solving approach to therapy, working with individuals across the lifespan. With specialized training in geriatric psychology, I support individuals facing complex medical issues, chronic illness, and end-of-life concerns. As my practice has grown, I have also come to enjoy working with adults of all ages as they navigate life transitions, build self-esteem, and develop healthier relationships. I am committed to creating an engaging therapeutic environment that fosters resilience, clarity, and meaningful growth.
You may be feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, especially if you’ve experienced trauma, toxic relationships, or emotional pain that keeps resurfacing. It can feel overwhelming trying to move forward while still carrying the weight of the past. You don’t have to do this alone. I provide a supportive space where you can begin to understand your story, break free from old patterns, and move toward a more peaceful, meaningful, and purpose-driven life.
I have been a social worker/therapist for 20+ years. I received my Masters degree at the University of Buffalo, in Upstate New York. I work with clients experiencing depression and anxiety. Together, we explore how thoughts influence feelings and how feelings shape behaviors. When patterns become unhelpful, they can interfere with relationships, work, and overall well-being. I help clients build insight and practical tools to create healthier, more empowering ways of responding to life's challenges.
As a Stanford-trained psychiatrist, I work closely with Dr. Sethi at Metabolic Psychiatry Labs (MPL) to manage serious mental illness conditions including bipolar, depression, binge eating disorder, and psychosis. I am trained in multiple types of psychotherapy, including CBT, psychodynamic, DBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems. I believe in treating the root cause of mental illness.
Hello, I’m Star. I am a Licensed Mental Health and Addictions Counselor and am currently returning to school to pursue a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, with the goal of holistically integrating mental and physical well-being. I graduated from the University of Colorado in 2016 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health.
I began my counseling career working and volunteering in drug rehabilitation centers and community mental health centers and later gained experience within the criminal justice system through work in county jails and the Colorado state prison system, where I have been practicing since 2016.
My primary interests include working with trauma, substance use disorders, and general mental health and wellness, with an emphasis on movement and proper nutrition due to their impact on how we think and feel. I prefer a holistic approach, focusing on finding what works best for each individual client. I am trained in diversity and inclusion and utilize a person-centered approach in my professional practice.
My motto is, “You can’t pour from an empty cup,” and my goal is to help clients fill their cups so they can be more present for themselves and their loved ones.
