Hello! I am an LICSW (in NH and MA) with over ten years experience in the field. I am certified in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Financial Social Work. I offer sessions remotely or at my office located in Epping, NH.
I am a U.S. Navy veteran that came to therapy late in life after a successful career in Tech. I am very analytical but also empathic, compassionate and humorous.
I have been in private practice for nine years in Northborough and previously worked in community mental health throughout Worcester county for a few years after graduating with an MA in counseling psychology from Assumption College. I specialize in anxiety, including GAD, Panic disorder, and OCD. I will help you examine your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving and empower you to identify where and how to make those changes.

Clients need a provider who truly listens, understands, and integrates both evidence-based practices and holistic wellness into their care plan & desire a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to heal and grow & don’t want to feel alone in their struggles; they need a provider who will walk alongside them with empathy and expertise.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, educator, and artist. I am skilled and experienced in supporting people working on issues of self-esteem/worth, traditional and non-traditional relationship issues, sexual wellness, body-positivity, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, recovery, life transitions, family issues, and more.
The work we do will be directed by the Person-Centered, Rogerian principles of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and belief in authentic human connection.
I have spent a majority of my training working across the lifespan from childhood to adulthood, and within family systems. I am trained in helping clients with stress and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and depression. Some of the individuals that I work with are in recovery from eating and substance-related disorders. My clients often face school and work avoidance and may find it difficult to do things they once enjoyed.
I have years of experience working with youth, adults and families during times of heightened crisis and uncertainty. Specializing in stress management, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and trauma .
I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and have specific specialties in ADHD and grief work. I also hold a Level 1 CrossFit certification, which informs my holistic approach to mental health. I am especially interested in the connection between physical and emotional well-being and how movement, routine, and mindset can support lasting change.
When I’m not in session, you can usually find me trying out new recipes or restaurants, at the CrossFit gym lifting heavy things on purpose, or keeping up with the chaos and companionship of my two very active dogs.
Salem Black, who holds a Master’s degree in both Biomedical Anthropology and Social Work, has an extensive background in working with children and families. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Master’s degree in Biomedical Anthropology from Binghamton University. This interdisciplinary approach provided him with a unique perspective on the intersection of behavioral patterns and public health.
