Therapist with more than 20 years experience. My goal is to improve the enjoyment of all things that life has to offer! I can be direct but believe that you always need to find the humor in things to get by!
I have a strong personal connection to nature, which I believe can be a powerful tool for healing. I enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, hiking, surfing, and even farming—which allows me to maintain a sense of balance and peace.
You might feel overwhelmed- anxiety creeping in, doubts piling up, or carrying the weight of grief, pre-post pregnancy changes, or other major life transitions. Those moments when you know something needs to shift but aren’t sure how. I work with adolescents, adults, and peri/post-natal clients in Marlton, NJ and offer virtual therapy throughout New Jersey to help you break free of limiting patterns and reconnect with a sense of hope and emotional calm.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my profile!
I’ve been working in the mental health field in New Jersey since 2007, when I began my career toward becoming a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I soon settled into the role of clinical therapist, being recognized as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors, with a tendency to most frequently work with those coping with anxiety, depression, and relationship problems.
In 2020, I left the community clinic I had been working with to form a private practice. Here, I can meet with and focus on my clients, providing each with the attention they deserve. One of the primary purposes of coming to therapy is to be heard. I am here to listen.
Not just listen, though! We work together to come up with a solution to the problem or issue you are working through. As we discuss what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past, we learn to tell the difference between a healthy, productive way to cope and a less-than-desirable way to deal with your problem.
Therapy should be uniquely tailored to each person. I work with clients to identify patterns of behavior that may have contributed to difficulties in relationships—with family, friends, or at work or school—and help find ways to create positive change. We learn to change our perspective on life, our past, our entire reality, and recognize that we really can control how we think and what we think about.
My approach to therapy is rooted in natural, holistic, and integrative healing. I believe mental health is deeply connected to the whole person, including the mind, body, emotions, environment, relationships, sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, and daily lifestyle patterns. I approach all concerns through a holistic lens, including anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, I work with clients to understand the full picture of what may be impacting their emotional well-being and overall balance.
I have strong knowledge of nutritional psychology and the connection between food, mood, energy, stress, inflammation, sleep, and mental health. I consider how factors such as circadian rhythm, the gut-brain axis, the vagus nerve, nutrition, and nervous system regulation may influence emotional wellness. I believe that what we eat, how we care for our bodies, how we rest, and the routines we create can all play an important role in supporting mental health.
Hi, my name is Cinthya! I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 8 years of experience working with adolescents (16+) and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and obsessive-compulsive issues. I believe therapy is the first step to help create change while also meeting the client where they are to ensure they feel safe, seen and heard.
I have been a Social Worker for over 17 years. I have been trained and certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from The Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA and Marriage and Family Therapy from the Multicultural Family Institute in Highland Park, NJ. I have also been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I am trained and utilize many other modalities such as guided meditations, sound vibration and energy healing, and emotional freedom technique ("tapping"). I truly believe everyone grows and heals their own way and there is not one perfect formula for anyone.
I believe that we have all the answers inside us and ultimately are our best guides. I look at counseling and therapy as a way to connect you to yourself, so you can begin to heal and trust your own inner wisdom.
When I work with clients I come from a place of no judgement. In our sessions you will feel a safe space to open up and share what you are struggling with. I feel that under all of our pain, shame, guilt and sadness is our REAL selves and working together we can see where all the beliefs came from and start to find your way back to your true self.
