Hello there!
My name is Heather Hammond, LMHC.
Having a strong sense of empathy, alongside personal life experiences are what motivated me to become a therapist.
I have always placed deep value upon genuine human connection and communication. Together, we can tackle your largest obstacles and have you on the road to living your richest and most fulfilling life. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or wanting to enhance your own personal growth, I promise to provide my utmost attentive and knowledgeable support.
I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist with Diagnostic Privilege, a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and an Advanced Certificate in Child & Family Advocacy. Since 2021, I’ve worked with individuals, couples, and families from a solution-focused, narrative, and systemic lens.
I believe our mental health is deeply shaped by the relationships and support systems around us. In therapy, we’ll work together to build on your strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful progress toward your goals.
You are the expert in your own life, and I see therapy as a collaborative space centered on your needs. Whether you’re facing stress, relationship challenges, family concerns, or life transitions, I’m here to support you with warmth, curiosity, and practical tools for change.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years of experience, I provide culturally sensitive care to those navigating depression, anxiety, life transitions, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
My journey of self-discovery has led me here and now. As most people do, we have hopes, dreams, and plans for our lives and aim for fulfillment. We do not always anticipate some of the obstacles that suddenly require a helping hand, a steppingstone, or a bridge. If you are currently experiencing any such challenge in your life, please reach out for help and support. I can provide counseling for individuals and the entire family. If you or your family is being impacted by addiction, relationship challenges, daily life stressors and disruptions and mental health concerns including depression and anxiety, your time might be now to receive some help.
I am skillful in helping families target the core issues that they are working through, whether driven by addiction or underlying mental health or dynamic factors. I employ strength based, cognitive behavioral techniques and a range of other modalities to achieve outlined goals. My role would be to listen, support, guide and to be transparent at all times.
Fear often holds us back from making a change or accepting help. Facing my fears has carved this amazing opportunity for me to help you. My years in the field has deepened my compassion for helping others of different cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am inspired by those I helped on their journey and would love to do the same for you.
When collaborating with clients who are experiencing mental or emotional distress: My approach to therapy is didactic and not a cookie cutter approach. My style is to be supportive and non judgmental,
I will use a variety of approaches that I will interchange and taper to my client’s unique needs such as anxiety, depression, and addiction.
Maintaining balanced mental health can help a person sustain their ability to enjoy life and preserve a healthy life balance.
