Thanks for visiting my page, I am glad you are here. I’ve spent more than 15 years supporting individuals of all ages and families through life’s toughest and most meaningful transitions. I specialize in trauma, grief, maternal mental health, postpartum support, anxiety, and life challenges. As a long time school social worker, I also love working with teens, young adults, and parents navigating stress, anxiety, identity, impulse control, ADHD, and the emotional impact of today’s digital world—including screen use overwhelm.
A lot of the people I work with describe feeling like they’ve been “holding everything together” but falling through the cracks themselves. Whether you’re a new parent, a caregiver, a teenager struggling to find direction, or someone facing loss or major change—you don’t have to do this alone.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I received my Master's from Syracuse University and my Bachelor's from Houghton University. In undergrad, my focus was on developmental and social psychology with a minor in family studies. My post-graduate experience and training include therapeutic treatment with individuals, parent-child relationships, adolescents, couples, marriage, and whole families. Beyond the therapy room, I have worked with addiction for over 17 years and severe persistent mental illnesses for 3 years. Today I focus on treating mental health issues - whether with couples and marriages, families, or individuals - from a relational lens.
Therapy has the potential to be a transformative experience. I have found people realize the benefit of therapy when they learn how to communicate and advocate for themselves compassionately, practice setting better boundaries, love themselves and others more fully, start to listen to their feelings as teachers and compasses pointing to important lessons, and when they begin to trust themselves as they are, to live authentically and unapologetically. Therapy with me is informed by Social Justice, Allyship, Anti-Racism and is Affirming of all Identities, including, Neurodivergent, Sexual, and Gender.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 15 years of experience supporting children, adults, and individuals navigating substance use, legal challenges, and crisis situations, including suicidality. I believe that every person has the capacity for healing and growth. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect, helping clients build lives that feel meaningful, balanced, and fulfilling.
Hi, my name is Deirys and I am looking forward to assisting you on your healing journey. I am a bilingual English/Spanish speaking clinician. I have 10 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and adults. I specialize in areas such as trauma, abuse, domestic violence, stress and anxiety, depression, adjustment/transitional issues, work related stressors, relationships and family.
I have had extensive experience with trauma in individuals from adolescence to late adulthood. I believe that trauma looks and feels different to every person. Two people experiencing the same event will have different outlooks and understandings of it. A traumatic event can take many forms. I want to help you pick up on where your thoughts, feelings and behaviors come from, even if you have never experienced “trauma".
I am a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner committed to providing high-quality mental health care to individuals. I strive to help patients achieve emotional wellness, stability, and improved quality of life.
My approach to care is patient-centered, evidence-based, and collaborative. I believe in building trusting relationships with patients, families, and caregivers while creating individualized treatment plans that address both mental and physical health needs. I am experienced in managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, schizophrenia, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, and other complex psychiatric conditions.
I also bring valuable experience working with children and adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, developmental, and academic challenges. I am skilled in evaluating and treating conditions such as ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, oppositional behaviors, trauma-related disorders, autism spectrum-related concerns, and mood dysregulation. I work closely with parents, guardians, schools, therapists, and pediatric providers to create comprehensive treatment plans that support emotional growth, school success, and family functioning.
In addition, I have extensive experience working with geriatric populations and individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurocognitive disorders. I am skilled in assessing cognitive decline and managing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia such as agitation, aggression, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, and psychosis, while promoting dignity, safety, and quality of life. I collaborate closely with families, caregivers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to develop supportive care plans and provide education regarding disease progression, behavioral strategies, and medication options.
I have 30 years of clinical experience. My therapeutic style with clients is direct, grounded, and deeply compassionate. I believe in creating a space that is both supportive and structured, where clients feel respected, heard, and challenged in meaningful ways.
I bring a calm, steady presence, particularly in high-stress or crisis situations, helping clients feel contained and focused even when things feel overwhelming. At the same time, I am honest and straightforward—I don’t avoid difficult conversations, but I approach them with care, professionalism, and respect.
