I often use fitness, animal training, or parenting references to help you make sense of things. I enjoy guiding first responders/military/veterans through the "ick" left by critical incidents. I also work with older adolescents and adults, providing support through life transitions, relationship issues (familial/friendship/romantic), anxiety, trauma, fitness/body image concerns, and more! My big floofy dog may sometimes make an appearance! (And in extremely rare cases, my toddler).
I am a License Clinical Addiction Specialist, License Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and a Certified Trauma Therapist II. I received my Master’s in Counseling from Longwood University. I have been working with those suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorders since 2011 in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
You will find me trustworthy and uplifting as we go beyond the symptoms and examine causes. I will guide you through the process of identifying what you want and unblocking subconscious barriers to achieving your identified goals.
I might be a therapist, but I am a human too!
I believe in building a relationship with clients that is warm and authentic. I honor important boundaries and ethics (therapy is not the same as friendship), but I do not believe in being detached and robotic. I joke and laugh with you, I ask questions rooted in curiosity about who you are, and I share my thoughts or opinions when you want them.
I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2013 with BAs in Psychology and English. I then attained a MS/EdS from the highly-esteemed Counseling program at UNC-Greensboro in 2016. I have worked as an Outpatient Therapist in Greensboro since 2016 serving people of many different backgrounds, identities, and therapeutic goals.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from UNC-G as well as a B.A. degree in Education and Student Orientation from a university in Brazil. I offer direct counseling to individuals, couples, and families. I also offer meditation to groups and individuals. I am a strong believer that you already have the internal resources to live in wellness and sometimes, it is necessary to uncover those resources through counseling and awareness.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I work with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, and life transitions. I utilize play therapy with children, solution-focused techniques, supportive therapy, family systems, and other techniques that match the client I am working with.
I’m a down-to-earth therapist who believes real healing happens through genuine connection. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff, clinical, or intimidating—I show up as a real human, and I invite you to do the same. My style is informal, compassionate, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. We can laugh when it’s helpful, sit quietly when things feel heavy, and talk honestly about what you’re going through without pressure to “stay positive” or have it all figured out.
Greetings! My name is Tandy Cyrus. I am a licensed therapist in Ohio with over 10 years of experience. I have worked in both community mental health and private practice settings. I have partnered with clients that have had a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, adhd, mood disorders, bi-polar disorder, post-partum depression, OCD, career stress, childhood trauma and anger management issues. My counseling style is warm and personable. I enjoy working with people to help them reach their full potential and lessen symptoms of their mental health issues.
You might be the one everyone leans on—the fixer, the helper, the strong one—while quietly feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or alone. Maybe you’re carrying childhood trauma, people‐pleasing, burnout, or grief and wondering why you still don’t feel “okay,” even when you’re doing all the things. Or you and your partner keep getting stuck in the same arguments, feeling more like roommates than teammates, or trying to figure out what to do after a betrayal. I work with adults and couples who are tired of just surviving and are craving more honesty, ease, and real connection in their lives and relationships.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
