I am a compassionate person, who currently serves as a Travel Social Worker, where I provide essential individual and group therapy to clients in need by focusing on clinical assessments and crisis interventions. I ensure that clients experiencing self-injurious behaviors receive ongoing support. My commitment to improving mental health is further highlighted by my role as Clinical Director at Pinnacle Point Supportive Services, where I was instrumental for 14 years. In this position, I overseen a team of therapists, facilitate therapy sessions for both children and adults, and engage in court-related matters. With a strong foundation in therapy and clinical supervision, I have developed skills in treatment planning, documentation, and quality assurance.
Taking the first step to find a therapist or meet a new therapist is tricky! I am so glad that you are here! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been working in Community Mental Health for the past 4 years. My main focus that I work with in my practice over the past few years have mainly been PTSD and Postpartum.
I believe that healthy relationships (including the therapeutic relationship) have transformative power when we are able to fully experience their healing power in the present moment. My goal is to provide a safe place for you to bring your pain, uncertainty, and hope as we work together to support your healing and growth.
I am passionate about making a difference in my clients' lives.15 years of experience with complicated grief, family systems, couples, teens, and veterans. Areas of competence- complicated grief, anxiety, anger management, depression, personality disorders, relationship issues, high conflict divorce and child custody challenges for you and your children. Education in forensic psychology adds a professional competence in assessments, high conflict resolutions, human behaviors, child development and interpersonal skills.
I love working with adults of all ages facing challenges related to anxiety, chronic shame, and/or depression, and who are looking to increase self acceptance, a sense agency, and connectedness with self and others. I enjoy providing support to clients who are motivated to understand themselves and others better, and who are excited to implement new tools and techniques both in and outside of our sessions together.
As a Master’s level Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe that change occurs with the proper guidance to use one’s own strength in their journey. Seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking that step! I’ve been practicing since 2010 with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and life stressors, with my focus being on trauma since 2016. I provide support to help those to overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive.
My own experiences with grief and loss eventually led me to do this work. I have a background working in inpatient palliative care where I learned to support patients with serious illness. My experience has helped me understand navigating the medical system and supporting individuals who are experiencing illness and loss. As a Latina of Mexican-American descent, I also see clients who prefer to do sessions in Spanish.
