I’m Alicia Battle, founder of Battle Mental Health, where healing, clarity, and personal transformation meet. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, my mission is to help individuals step into the fullest expression of who they are, using the mind as an instrument for alignment, growth, and powerful change.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Georgia State University and completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University. My specialty areas include Anxiety, Depression, Breakups, Separation/Divorce, Communication, Couples Counseling, Self-Discovery, Executive Counseling, and navigating unexpected life transitions.
Beyond the therapy room, I am deeply committed to leadership and developing others. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is mentoring professionals, teaching the foundations of a strong and ethical practice, and helping them strengthen both their skills and their confidence. In every leadership capacity I hold, my goal is to help people rise, lead with clarity, and step into the strongest version of themselves.
At the core of my work is a simple belief: your mind is your greatest asset. When guided, strengthened, and understood, it becomes the force that helps you reshape your patterns, elevate your resilience, and create a life rooted in intention and emotional freedom.
Hey there- I’m Rachel and I am a Clinical Social Worker. I would ask the “are you feeling (insert here) question like everyone else, but you’re scrolling looking for a therapist, so you’re probably not doing too hot. So you’re here, let’s do something about it. As a therapist, I believe in short-term evidence-based treatment. A large percentage of people do not need therapy forever and my hope is that as we work together to process memories or build skills you will reach a point where you feel confident handling whatever life is throwing at you on your own.
Trauma Treatment is scary and it’s certainly a hard sell. The reason I specialized in it and believe in it so strongly is because I know it works. As a Veteran, I have experienced how life-changing these treatments can be and want to share that with as many people as I can. I hope you will give me a shot at convincing you it’s worth it.
I know how hard it is to learn to talk about difficult things. That made me want to help others learn to do the same. I started by volunteering at rape crisis and domestic violence shelters. When I was at these places I did outreach in the community and ran support groups for both. For a time, I took rape crisis hospital calls to support people who had come in for sexual assault exams. This work that taught me to be comfortable talking about anything, at any time, with anyone. I have worked with all types of individuals from ages 12 and up. My first Masters was an intensive dive into Human Rights. My second Masters was in Counseling so I could work with individuals to help them beyond the crisis moments. My passion is to help people progress towards healing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) in the state of North Carolina. I have earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mount Olive. My clinical experience includes working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, Bi-polar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma, and family dynamics. I have 13 years of experience working with the substance abuse population.
