I have been practicing 25 years. I have walked the path of life and its difficulties through lived experience
I’m a therapist with nearly 30 years of experience working with adolescents and adults, including a long career as a high school teacher and counselor. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies, a Master’s in Religious Studies from Gonzaga University, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Regis University.
I specialize in working with adolescent and adult men, particularly around issues like anger, relationships, self-esteem, identity, and life transitions. My background gives me a deep understanding of the unique pressures men face, and I offer a grounded, compassionate space to explore those challenges.
As a father of four young adults, I also bring a personal understanding of parenting, growth, and the evolving nature of family relationships.
I will meet you where you are. I will do my best to help you feel comfortable, safe, and at ease. There is no judgement.
My practice combines somatic therapy, attachment theory, and contemplative psychotherapy. I specialize in relationship therapy, sexual trauma healing, and existential crisis. I enjoy working with artists, athletes, activists, and spiritual seekers. I am affirmative of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folx, psychedelic medicine, sex work, and spirituality of all backgrounds. My master's degree is in Clinical Mental Health with a concentration in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology from Naropa University.
Hello, I'm Janet. I believe we hold the power and intuition to change our lives and live more joyfully. As Joseph Campbell said, “We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy.” Sometimes we just need some guidance to move forward. If you are struggling to feel better about yourself and life or to heal from past experiences, you are not alone. I would like to offer my knowledge and empathic therapeutic style to empower and support you in your journey towards more peace, understanding, and healing.
My priority is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. With over 40 years in healthcare—including service as a former Navy Nurse Corps Officer and retired military veteran—I bring values of resilience, trust, and teamwork into every therapeutic relationship. I view care as a partnership and work to empower you to take an active role in your mental health.
