About Gene C. Hauser, MA, MDiv, NCC, LPC-S:
I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas, with over 20 years of experience. I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals facing significant life challenges. My work has included empowering disabled Veterans, unhoused individuals, and those navigating severe mental health difficulties.
My education and training include a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio (2006), a Master of Divinity from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (1998), and a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN (1998)
I blend evidence-based approaches with a deep commitment to fostering growth, self-awareness, and resilience. My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in dignity, respect, and the equitable distribution of power throughout the counseling process. I promote the importance that every person feels heard, valued, and recognize their capacity for personal transformation.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S) with over 12 years of experience helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges and achieve meaningful growth. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University.
I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I am especially passionate about helping clients build resilience, process difficult experiences, and create lasting, positive change in their lives.
For clients seeking trauma-focused care, I am Master Trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a research-backed approach that can help resolve distressing memories in a more efficient and effective way.
I am a bilingual therapist who has worked in the public education system for more than 15 years. I have experience working in several settings such as public schools, non-profits and corporations. I have earned a Master’s degree in Divinity, a Master’s degree in School Counseling, and a Master’s degree in Public School Administration. I have more than 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents to overcome school struggles. I have more than 10 years of experience working with women of all ages. In 2018, I was honored to receive a Congressional Award for my Inclusion work. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance.
I am trained in EMDR therapy and I am available for virtual sessions most afternoons and weekends.
Teresa Lyons, M.Ed., LPC, is a caring mental health professional and community advocate with over 25 years in education and more than 30 years in ministry. She has a heart for helping people find hope and healing as they navigate grief, chronic illness, and life’s challenges. Teresa specializes in academic, emotional, and spiritual care and is passionate about walking alongside others with compassion, encouragement, and wisdom. “I chose to become a counselor because of the impact counseling had on me as a young adult. At a time when I struggled to find purpose, value, and self-love, my counselor offered compassionate yet firm guidance that left a lasting mark on my life. That experience inspired me to dedicate my work to helping others discover hope, healing, and their own sense of worth.”
Life= struggle. Its true, or it wouldn't be life. Why not have a helping hand to get through it. Consider your therapist as a hammer, helping you build whatever it is your building. It helps you get to the goal, the finishing project, but it's not useful without you using it, and applying the effort towards what you're trying to build.
I'm traditionally a CBT psychotherapist who also utilizes other forms of techniques and therapies as they pertain to the client's needs to achieve a successful treatment.
I have a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic University located in Houston, Texas.
A good therapist is someone who is your cheerleader, but also provides the hard truths. Allow me to be that support in your life, to help, heal, empower and move forward in positive directions.
I have worked in diverse settings working with countless categories of focus. Primarily, I specialize in working with adult individuals, family and couples in addition to resolving depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, stress management, and identity development to name a few.
